A scientific approach to understanding human and organizational complexity

A unique approach combining
scientific tools,
human expertise,
data, and AI.

At Selescope, we place scientific rigor at the heart of our work.
Our practices are based on psychology, organizational sociology, and organizational behavior.
Our mission: to make sense of the complexity of individuals, teams, and organizations in order to guide sound and sustainable decisions.

Un cadre épistémologique : penser la complexité

Going beyond positivism

Traditional analytical approaches are insufficient to capture the richness of human dynamics. Inspired by Edgar Morin and J.-L. Le Moigne, we adopt complex thinking: a way of thinking that connects, contextualizes, and globalizes while recognizing the individual and the unique.

The systemic approach

We consider each phenomenon in its entirety.

This approach allows us to organize knowledge production, guide action, and move beyond simplistic models. It encourages caution, iteration, and ambition.

Data triangulation

We compare several analysis methods to ensure the reliability of our results. This strategy allows us to validate observations, cross-reference perspectives, and better understand the interactions between internal and external dimensions.

Our three analysis tools

The semi-structured interview

A tool for gaining an in-depth understanding of career paths and motivations.

Structured, scientific communication conducted by two consultants to limit bias.

Active listening, rephrasing, and neutrality to encourage free expression.

A method that combines rigorous analysis with respect for each person's uniqueness.

My Focus

A psychometric tool based on differential psychology

Measures cognitive abilities (memory, logic, attention).

Assesses personality traits (emotions, behaviors, motivation).

Validated by a team of psychology researchers, it provides a reliable personality inventory that is directly useful in a professional context.

Scopexec

A comprehensive diagnosis of organizations, based on social psychology and organizational sociology.

- Structural analysis: missions, systems, processes.

- Dynamic analysis: culture, management, cohesion, productivity.

- An interactionist approach that reflects the reality of an organization at a given moment in time.

- Analyse structurelle : missions, systèmes, processus.

- Analyse dynamique : culture, management, cohésion, productivité.

- Une approche interactionniste qui restitue la réalité d’une organisation à un instant T.

Capitalizing on historical data

Data

We have a unique database that has been regularly updated since 2007.

All of this data on the profiles of candidates and management teams of SMEs and mid-cap companies under LBO allows us to make comparisons.

Assessments of executives and their teams (CODIR or COMEX) are made in relation to the investment thesis and in relation to comparables.

IA

Vectorization, expert systems, machine learning, collaborative filtering, LLM—we have developed customized tools for every key stage of a project. Our consultants are supported by artificial intelligence, enabling them to quickly:

1 - Capitalize on data and previous projects (benchmarks, similar profiles, etc.)

2 - Ensure that all hypotheses are explored

3 - Be alerted to inconsistencies, limitations, and significant discrepancies

4 - Synthesize into high-quality deliverables

Our purpose

We combine individual, collective, and organizational perspectives to produce diagnostics that are:

  • Scientifically validated
  • Objective and reliable
  • Directly actionable to guide transformation and strengthen sustainable performance

At Selescope, each intervention is designed as an alliance between scientific rigor and operational utility.
